Thanksgiving Part 1
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Every year we go to the family cabin in California and celebrate this thankful day. The cabin is a place to cuddle, play games, catch up with family, make Christmas crafts, and of course cook and eat all day long! I love you Thanksgiving!

DIY Polka Dot Infinity Scarf
So one of my favorite fashion bloggers from Pink Peonies posted this picture a few weeks ago of this beautiful scarf. The J crew scarf is just my style, but the price tag of $65 was a little out of my price range. So I decided to make my own scarf for around $3.00!
Directions:
Step 1: Buy: 1 yard of fabric
1 bottle of fabric paint
1 pencil
Step 2: Cut fabric in half as shown below
Step 3: Dip the eraser of your pencil in the paint to create your polka dots, for more directions look HERE
Step 4: Place both pieces of fabric right sides together and sew one end, of your shorter sides.
Step 5: Open fabric so it is now one long piece of fabric
Step 6: Fold the fabric right sides together, hot dog style, and sew
Step 7: Turn inside out
Step 8: Fold the scarf so the seam is in the middle, instead of the edge (seen in the picture of step:10)
Step 9: Fold in about an inch of the fabric on each end
Step 10: Sew the folded down edge
Step 11: Place right sides together, and sew
You should end up with a long tube of fabric. Fold around your neck 2-3 times for a beautiful infinity scarf.
Enjoy!

Vintage Go To Purse
A special thanks to the beautiful Katie for modeling my favorite go-to purse. I found this purse at a thrift store in Idaho a few years ago, and I love it! Just a reminder that not everything from a thrift store needs fixing up, sometimes you just get lucky with a special item that just speaks to you. So let the thrift store treasure hunt begin!

A Big Move...

After two years of wondering, preparing, sacrificing, and waiting we are finally done with recruiting season! We have finally signed with an amazing company, and will be moving to Los Angeles in September! I am so proud of how hard my husband has worked and the countless hours he has put in to get this job for our family. In celebration of the end, we got together everything from recruiting events from the last two years. We are so excited to start this new part of our lives, and I am so excited to be a Californian again!

Cable Knit
Who doesn't love a good oversized cable knit sweater? I found this one at my local thrift store for just a few dollars. This sweater was a little too oversized for my taste, but with a few quick stitches up the sides, and a little in the arms, I had myself the perfect cable knit sweater. So before the snow comes, head over to your local thrift store, or garage sale and bundle up!

Bow Tie
These pretty bow tie shirts are all the rage this fall. I found this great 80's styled one at my local thrift store for $3.50! With a few quick alterations this 80's beauty is ready to be worn again.

Step 2: Pin excess fabric that you would like to take in (see above)
Step 3: Sew the areas you have pinned
Step 4: Cut excess fabric
Step 5: Pin the sleeves to the the bodice and sew
Step 6: Surge, or do a zigzag stitch on any material you have cut to keep the material from fraying
Done!
