Inspiration=Re-Creation

$45.00                                                                            $5.00

The Daybook is one of my favorite fashion blogs. When she posted this skirt a few months ago, I was instantly in love. I knew that this elegant, yet comfy ensemble was a must have. I picked up this interesting (to say the least) drawstring knit dress at a thrift store, in hopes to make something similar. With a few few cuts here and there, this funky knit dress has been transformed into a skirt of elegance, style, and comfort.

  1. Very clever! How did you do the waistband?

  2. Laura,
    So for the waistband I folded down the raw edges, then stretched the fabric as I sewed it. When you do this the thread will stretch with the knit fabric. The waist may still be a little tight, but you will have enough give to get the skirt on. I don't like the look of an elastic waistband, so this is a great alternative. Hope this helps!
